THE TREE MODEL OF LANGUAGE CONVERTER
Multilingual Information Super-Highway (MISH):

By H. C. Tien, M.D.
An Introduction to PINXXIEE Translingual Dictionary,
World Journal Press, 1990

In 1947, Warren Weaver, Director of the Natural Sciences Division of the Rockefeller Foundation, wrote to Professor Norbert Wiener at MIT, a memo that launched machine translation (MT). By 1955, Weaver was seeking "a system of prelinguistic symbols (that) underlies all human languages, like a shared source code of thought. If such a system could be discovered, or created, it could be used as medium for converting ideas from one language into another. By translating the words in an original text into this code, and then translating back into the desired language, the code could be used as a universal interface between languages."

In 1961, unbeknownst of Warren Weaver’s search, Dr. Tien, indeed, researching with Rorschach inkblots and Chinese characters, discovered the first fragment of a code for his language converter linking to the ancient Rosetta Stone. And by 1999, he perfected precisely such a basic system of prelinguistic symbols, named Tenstrokes Transcode[ . TiENSTROKES® also provided the long-sought solution to the Chinese Homophone Puzzle. Defying the dire predictions of nearly all world classical linguists, Dr. Tien’s Transcode made it possible to transform traditional Chinese characters into the modernized and linearized Internet-Chinese script, directly readable like English and learnable like French.

And so, the alphabetic spelling of an ideographic character like ‘ ’ is ‘ HLJY ’ or in its prelinguistic symbols
’ , which is same for all languages. But, of course, the pronunciation or its phonetic spelling of

  ó ó HLJY ó Tree

for any language is uniquely different for each and every one, that is, for example, ‘Tree’ in English, ‘Arbre’ in French, ‘Baum’ in German, and so on, or now ‘Muuh’ in the Internet-Chinese, a new lingua sinica on MISH . [See Tree Model]

This is a significant development for the world of education since students need only to learn the basic 10-letter Chinese stroke alphabet to map 10 English letters, in order to learn convert the entire language (see Global Alphabet Chart). Truly prophetic, in 1955 Warren Weaver, the foremost theoretician of MT (Machine Translation) actually wrote: "It is very tempting to say that a book written in Chinese is simply a book written in English which was coded into ‘Chinese code.’ We have useful methods for solving almost any cryptographic problem, may it not be that with proper interpretation we already have useful methods for translation?" The answer is "Yes, and it’s all Chinese!"

And again, Dr. Tien successfully published such a trilingual tutorial book, decoding "Chinese For Everyone", using CCC’s TiENSTROKES® MarcoPolo Converter 2003.

[ Tenstrokes® Transcode is a system of prelinguistic symbols, because it is a motion alphabet of 10 directional strokes, according to Pinxxiee Theory (pron. pin-shay, meaning phonics+graphics). It can draw Chinese characters and it can even ‘spell’ English letters with the same stroke alphabet. Today, would colleagues of Prof. Weaver or Erwin Reifler recognize this example? The big English letter E is made of 4 stroke letters ó E (phonic); however, the square Chinese character King, (graphic) is also made of the same 4 stroke letters , except for their sequence. And so it is for all 26 English letters and for 2,500 basic Chinese characters, which Chinese elementary school children must all learn by rote memory in order to become literate.
